Chosen Wedding Collective – The Hub
So I’m excited about an event I’m attending in a few days called The Hub, organised by the lovely lady Kiki who also organises the Chosen Wedding Fair; these super stylish, fun and alternative wedding fairs that everyone in the industry raves about.
The Hub is described as a “one day escape into an inspirational and supportive space” Blimey, can I book in for a week?! The reason I’m excited is that I get to hear from a whole host of the top talents in the wedding industry and dare I hope to meet some of them too.
It’s tough when you’re setting up a business in a new industry. The little black book of contacts you can so easily take for granted is gone. Nada. Nothing. But I love a challenge and I love meeting new people so this type of event is a great way of doing that. The downside is the website still isn’t finished 🙁 so I’ll have to just tell everyone about my gorgeously rustic vintage props I have for hire and direct them to my instagram page instead for now.
On the plus side, so far I’ve met the most inspirational and creatively talented people who have been open to collaborating which is so important in my mind. So I’ll be hearing from the self-titled “wedding addict” Tamyrn Lawrence from Candid Apple, who also happens to be on the editorial team at the awesomely cool Love My Dress. There’s also the super talented Amy from Bo Boutique, a renowned florist and stylist whose styled shoots have blown me away. Her tagline is even better “Create drama with flowers” Anyway, the brilliant line up is here.
What am I hoping from this? Well first and foremost, inspiration by other female entrepreneurs in the same boat as me, secondly a few more contacts for my little black book and thirdly (and perhaps I’m dreaming here?!) but some suppliers who might want to collaborate with me on my next styled shoot planned for January….well there’s no harm in aiming high?
Anyway, signing off as I’m off to catch a train. xx
